DETAILS:

    • The BeadBuster XB-450i is a 2024 updated design of our original small frame bead breaker (the XB-450 – 1st released in October 2012). It is also a replacement of the other small frame tools (XB-451, XB-452 & XB-454 PRO). The new design updates include Premium Investment Cast construction from hardened 4140 Chrome-Moly Steel, custom Grade-8 Bolts with crowned tips, and double female ram thread length (1″). These improvements address weld and thread stripping failures that some customers experienced with the legacy design. The removable clamp arm can be swapped with other accessory clamp arms for specialty applications.
    • With the home mechanic and trail rider in mind, it was specifically designed for difficult-to-remove ATV tires, but we soon realized that it worked just as well on just about every kind of tire there is. No adjustment is needed for different tire/wheel sizes. The portable bead breaker is small and perfect for stashing in your glove box or tool box. SPECIAL APPLICATIONS:

  • ATV/UTV REINFORCED RIMS
    The accessory Clamp Post (BB1X-CAP) is required for use with ATV/UTV Reinforced Rims that have a reinforcing ring (aka “rock ring”), such as Kawasaki KFX OEM wheels, and certain aftermarket Baja racing wheels. Reinforced Rims look similar to Bead Locks, but should not be confused.

 

 

  • 7″ & 8″ ATV RIMS
    The BeadBuster XB-450i was designed for use on the most common Diameters of ATV/UTV Rims: 9″ and larger. Smaller rims (7″ & 8″) have a different and shallower lip profile. Use on these rims may cause damage to the tool and/or wheel as the feet can catch on the bead retainer. However, the tool can be effectively used on these smaller rims with a spacer (BB1-SPCR) that we sell. Its a small magnetic pad that effectively shortens the feet for small rims. Damage to the tool as a result of use on these smaller rims without the spacer voids the warranty.  This only applies to 7″ & 8″ AT class wheels.  Small Lawn Mower and Go-Kart wheels do not need the spacer.

 


IMPORTANT NOTES:

  1. A 3/4″ wrench is required to drive the clamp and ram bolts. Hand wrenches will work, power tools are recommended. You can use an impact wrench, but use caution with a 1/2″ impact to not over-torque the bolts.
  2. Tire Irons are required to finish the job of removing the tire from the rim.
